This is not a checklist safari. This is an experienced wildlife photographer’s safari.

The Southern Serengeti and Ndutu are charged with life, tension, and consequence. Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest give birth across the short-grass plains, and where there is new life, predators follow. Lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are not distant subjects — they are active participants in an unfolding story.

This workshop is designed for experienced photographers who want to slow down, think ahead, and photograph with intent at eye level. We will prioritize behavior over species, moments over portraits, and anticipation over reaction. You will learn to read animal body language, predict movement, and position yourself for the scene before it happens — the way you’ve seen in documentaries, not on highlight reels.

In the field, you will receive hands-on coaching in real time: why we wait, why we move, how light, wind, and habitat shape behavior, and how to frame action when dust, distance, and chaos collide. We will work deliberately, respectfully, and patiently, allowing nature to unfold rather than forcing it.

You will leave Tanzania with stronger images — and, more importantly, a sharper photographic instinct that will shape your work long after the safari is over.

Highlights

  • Calving Season Predator Action — Photograph one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife periods as wildebeest calves arrive and predators actively hunt across the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu, creating opportunities for behavior-driven images rather than simple portraits.

  • Small Group, Big Access — Travel with just four photographers across two vehicles, allowing more space to shoot, flexibility to reposition, and the ability to stay with meaningful encounters rather than rush between sightings.

  • Low-Level Photography From Custom Vehicles — Specially built safari vehicles offer lower shooting angles for eye-level perspectives, cleaner backgrounds, and more immersive predator and calving-season imagery.

  • Hands-On Field Coaching — Receive real-time guidance on reading behavior, anticipating action, managing exposure in dust and shifting light, and positioning for stronger compositions.

  • Photograph With Intent — Designed for experienced photographers who want depth over species counts, focusing on storytelling, interaction, and creating images that reflect the emotion and tension of the Serengeti.
