Autumn in Japan is a beautiful season for photography. As the leaves turn red and gold, join in the favorite Japanese pastime called momijigari, meaning “red leaf hunting.” This ancient tradition became popular in the Heian period (794-1185 A.D.), and the popularity of momijigari continues to this day.
We’ll photograph ancient temples, bamboo forests, manicured zen gardens, and dramatic landscapes surrounded by colorful foliage. We’ll photograph the perfect form of Mt. Fuji and visit the ancient capitals of Kyoto and Nara. We’ll also experience Kanazawa’s charming history and culture and photograph the dramatic seascapes along the Noto Peninsula. We’ll also have time for some of the world’s best street photography in Tokyo. We might even stop in a camera shop or two!
This trip will depart sometime in late November 2024.
