In winter, Japan offers many spectacular wildlife photography experiences. Snow monkeys (Japanese macaques) bask in hot springs in Nagano’s snowy environs. On the northern island of Hokkaido, Red-crowned Cranes perform their elaborate courtship dances in the snow, and Stellar Sea Eagles arrive with the pack ice drifting in from the Sea of Okhotsk.
