On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse will pass over Northern Spain. Photographing and experiencing a total solar eclipse is a unique thrill. This particular eclipse will be special in Spain because the sun will be at a low angle above the horizon, giving landscape photographers a rare opportunity to craft an eclipse image with a compelling foreground.
We’ll begin our trip by visiting the picturesque Asturian Coast of Northern Spain, where we’ll photograph dramatic seascapes, mountain villages, and medieval castles.
We’ll then travel to central Spain for the eclipse, which has the best chance of clear skies this time of year. The day before the eclipse, we’ll scout our location and practice our eclipse photography techniques. We’ll provide detailed guidance to make the most of this spectacular celestial event. The day after the eclipse, we’ll host an in-depth post-processing session and show you how to make the most of your eclipse images.
