Lying 300 miles east of the South American coast, the windswept Falkland Islands are home to an abundance of birdlife, including five penguin species, the majestic Black-browed Albatross, and numerous species of waterfowl, like the endemic Falkland Steamer Duck. Populations of fur seals, sea lions, and elephant seals also frequent the island’s many beaches. The Falkland Islands are also a jumping-off point for expeditions to South Georgia.
