Western Newfoundland

Dramatic Seascapes, Lighthouses, Icebergs, Fishing Villages, and Whales

July 9 – 19, 2023

It is here in Newfoundland where you have the opportunity to live the life of a lighthouse keeper overlooking the entrance to “Iceberg Alley.” Marvel at the miles of pristine coastline, dotted with beaches, sea stacks, walking trails, and photogenic fishing communities.

Photographic opportunities here are numerous and diverse, and wildlife and landscape photographers both will find a wealth of subjects here. Although we can’t predict nature, we expect to spot whales, abundant ice flowing down iceberg alley, and much more. From the island’s rugged south coast and maritime barrens to the Tablelands of Gros Morne National Park, the natural beauty of this wild place will surround you at every turn.

We’ll be photographing from sunrise (the first in America!) to sunset, and everywhere in between. Our network of local guides will keep us advised of local photographic opportunities. Our pros will help you make the most of every situation. Expect plenty of field instruction, and—back at our hotel—plenty of post-processing instruction and our signature image reviews too. We’ll be daily traveling by spacious bus, staying in comfortable accommodations, and provided with fresh, locally-sourced cuisine.

Why don’t you come with us to listen to the whales’ calls echoing off massive icebergs from your own private cove in the North Atlantic!
